As an important component in the automobile transmission system, the service life of the clutch release bearing is directly related to the working stability and driving comfort of the vehicle clutch system. The choice of materials is the basis for determining the service life of the release bearing. High-quality materials can provide higher wear resistance and fatigue resistance, and reduce the possibility of cracks, wear or fragmentation in high-frequency operation. After proper heat treatment, the hardness and toughness of the metal materials commonly used in bearings can meet the needs of large loads and high-speed operation. In addition, whether the bearing surface has been treated, such as plating or carburizing, will also have a direct impact on its wear resistance.
Machining accuracy and assembly quality have an impact on life. If the machining tolerance of bearing parts does not meet the standard, or the coaxiality control during the assembly process is improper, it is easy to cause uneven bearing force. Operation in this state will produce local overload, aggravate the friction between the rolling element and the raceway, accelerate bearing surface fatigue, and shorten its service life. And impurities and dust that are not cleaned up during the assembly process, or minor damage caused by improper tools during assembly, may also gradually expand into cracks during use and become the source of failure.
Lubrication condition is an important guarantee during the operation of bearings. Under normal working conditions, good lubrication can form a stable oil film between the rolling element and the raceway, reducing the wear and heat caused by direct metal contact. However, if the lubrication is insufficient, the grease is aged, or the lubricant is contaminated, the bearing will run under high friction. This will not only cause the temperature to rise and the lubrication to fail, but also damage the rolling parts due to local overheating. Therefore, the choice of lubrication method, the arrangement of lubrication cycle, and the cleanliness of the lubricant are all matters that need to be focused on.
Usage and driving habits are also factors that cannot be ignored. Frequent semi-clutch operation, long-term clutch pedaling, violent shifting and other behaviors will accelerate the wear of the release bearing. Under such high-frequency start-stop and frequent friction conditions, the bearing load fluctuates violently, the operation is unstable, and it is very easy to cause premature aging. In addition, the temperature, humidity, dust and corrosive media in different driving environments will also affect the life of the bearing, especially for vehicles that work in slippery, dusty or high-temperature conditions for a long time, which puts higher requirements on the sealing and protection capabilities of the bearing.
The condition of other components of the clutch system will also affect the operating state of the bearing. If the pressure plate is deformed, the fork is worn or the spring is loose, the release bearing will have an operating angle or position deviation, which will cause eccentric load operation. This abnormal operating condition will increase the risk of uneven force on the bearing and shorten its life.
